The
sanctuary of San Giovanni d'Andorno is located in Deer Valley
near Rosazza in an unspoiled, in the countryside, surrounded by
towering mountains.
It is said
that the inhabitants of this area (lumberjacks and farmers)
worshiped a statue of St. John and often took her with them in
the workplace, like a patron saint.
Several times, the statue was lost several times and was found
in a beautiful and evocative cave.
People began
to venerate the saint and believe that the findings were not
random but miraculous.
At the end of 1600 it was decided to build a church around the
cave where it was located (and still preserved) the statue of
the saint.
Who built the shrine, quickly became the destination of numerous
pilgrimages and is said that in this place full of charm
numerous miracles attributed to St.
John.
